Help and About
What is this for? - This is a tool to help people understand the de-referenced structure of their DDI instruments. It also examines a DDI questionnaire for missing references and possible endless loops of sequences. Check my blog post on self-referencial ddi questionnaires and that should answer your question.
What is InstrumentML? - InstrumentML is an XML dialect I made for a DDI questionnaire tool designed as an experiment in testing the capability of DDI for web forms. Instrument ML, is basicallly the identifying parts of DDI Instruments, Sequences, Loops, etc to create a structured, hierarchical view of an Instrument, rather than the the flat referencing (albeit much more reusable) format in native DDI.
Will you be making a nice AJAX powered version of this? - No. Its too hard and I really aren't that good at Javascript. Or english.
Why Sheri? - Shari Lewis was the ventriloquist and friend of Lamb Chop, the cute puppet sheep who sang the infectious song "This is the song that never ends". After too many times of testing Ramona the variant "This is the form that never ends" got stuck in my head. The misspelling is because of my aforementioned failure of english.
The DDI element X isn't supported? - If X is an element is of type ControlConstructType and is a child of ControlConstructScheme then thats my bad. Check my contact details and send me an email with the issue. If X isn't of those types, then it really isn't covered by this tool, but perhaps another tool could be created to help cover that. In that case, send me an email through the DDI-Users list to see if anyone else is having the same problem and I'll work on it.
I need more help with DDI, do you have any good tutorials? - Yes. At the moment, the only one is the blog post above, but there will be more going up on my site at http://www.kidstrythisathome.com/ddi-tutorials
I have other questions that I think could go here, how to I contact you? - Shift your eyes a few lines lower and you can see my contact details :P
